GOOD BEER GUIDE

The Nation’s Best Off License is in Leicester

As you drive along Clarendon Park Road, you could quite easily drive past “The Offie”, but however small the outside may be, the choice inside is beyond belief.

Muree Squires and his partner Pat Schorah run “The Offie”. They take pride in their vast selection of bottled beers, not just from the UK but also worldwide. He goes to places abroad about every 6 weeks to buy in the range of Imported Bottled Beers for his shop. He stocks at least 400 Bottle Conditioned Beers, quite clearly an “Offie” from heaven for the beer drinker.

Muree left his post as Licensee of The Haunch Of Venison on High Street Leicester (Now The Orange Tree) 13 Years ago to start his business which has now earned him an award. The Trade Paper OLN (Off License News) have voted “The Offie” as Best Beer Retailer in the UK for 2005. For those of you who came to our Beer Festival in March, you may have seen Muree and Pat with their bottled beer bar, but if you didn’t, you may like to visit them at “The Offie” at 142 Clarendon Park Road, Leicester. You will be certain to find a drink or two that you like.
