Leicester CAMRA Beer Festival 2001

The festival was held at the Charotar Patidar Samaj between March 28th and 31st 2001. Sixty beers from local brewers were available and all had been consumed by 4pm on the last day.

Beer of the Festival

Winner: Hoskins and Oldfield Black Dolphin, 6% ABV.

It received 48 votes, twelve ahead of the runner up. Brewers Steve and Phil Hoskins describe it as, "A strong, dark, mysterious porter style beer with a flick in the tail, using Maris Otter and a blend of aromatic hops". It proved to be extremely popular with the two casks selling rapidly.

Runner Up: Oakham Harlequin with 36 votes

Third: Brewsters Whipping Toms, 35 votes.

Fourth: Oldershaws Mowbray Mash, 34 votes

Fifth: Blencowe Danny Boys, 32 votes.

Sixth :Oakham JHB, 31 votes.
