Leicester Beer Festival 2005
Beer of the Festival
This year saw “Beer of the Festival” judged by tasting
panels made up of Leicester CAMRA members, brewers, trade and invited guests.
The judging was done on the Wednesday prior to the festival opening to the
public. The trial was deemed a total success and will now become a regular part
of the festival.
The
purpose of the trial was to have a “Beer of the Festival” that would be eligible
for “Champion Beer of Britain” rather than some of the one-offs that have won on
previous years and do not count based on the laid down CAMRA criteria.
The
Head Brewer from Everards, along with brewers from Full Mash, Langton and Pot Belly,
to name a few, were present.
Thanks
go to the volunteers who served the tables and Lisa Sales for providing an
impressive buffet afterwards.
