Pub Of The Month May 2007 - The Black Horse, Aylestone

For May’s Pub Of The Month, we travelled by public transport to the city border, Aylestone. Phil Jones is Licensee of The Black Horse on Narrow Lane. Although he and his wife Marny have only been there a few months, he has already made his mark. This Everards pub has almost all of the Everards range with two guest beers and Elgoods Black Dog Mild. We know Phil from some of his previous pubs and knew he would enjoy meeting the challenge of a bigger pub.

After Phil was presented with his award, he thanked us and said “It has been hard work getting things right and would like to thank CAMRA for recognising us”. He also thanked his staff for their hard work as well. Also present were Everards head of Marketing David Bremner and Business Development Manager Matt. Thanks must go to Phil and Marny and staff for the excellent buffet and for their hospitality.

K Williams.
